Today was Day 5. I started the day with a weight check and was pleasantly surprised to see this:
As you might have seen if you read my story, at my highest recorded point, I weighed 312 lbs. This is what I looked like:
As of 6:00am on February 10, I hit the goal that I set for myself in late May of 2011. I now weigh 250 lbs. I know that to some of you that still seems like a ton, but I’m 6′ 5″ tall and have a bit of a “husky” build to put it mildly. I am really happy to get to this point. Here is what I look like today, as a comparison to the photo above:
I’m including this in this post because it’s a great milestone for me, but more importantly, I want people to know that this can be done. Just commit to yourself and keep going. As you likely read, this is my 3rd 24-Day Challenge. AdvoCare has been a huge part of this journey for me and it will continue to be.
Here are the specifics around Day 5 for me.
Sleep: 6.5 Hours
- Breakfast: Spark, Catalyst, Probiotic Restore Pack from Herbal Cleanse, Meal Replacement
- AM Snack: Strawberries, Apple
- Lunch : OmegaPlex, grilled chicken, green bean, carrot, lemon salad from Eatzi’s.
- PM Snack: OmegaPlex, Orange, Blueberries
- Dinner: Southwest Chicken Salad with red bell peppers, celery and onion
- Overall Water Consumption: Approximately 150 oz.
Workout: Off to rest for the Hot Chocolate 15K in Fair Park in Dallas
It was a good (not great) day on the challenge, in my opinion. I slept well, but could have slept more. The food and water consumption was decent, but not great. I need more protein at snack times. Dizziness is all but gone, which is good. I still don’t know exactly what it is, but I think it was caffeine related (lack of it). I’m over it now. If you’ve ever quit caffeine before, you likely know that dizziness and headaches are a common thing. It’s a highly addictive drug.
I know I am a little late with this. I’ll post Day 6 tonight, complete with a Hot Chocolate race update. I might have cheated and had a hot chocolate. You’ll have to wait and see.0
