Amazing Chili-Rubbed Tilapia

Chili-Rubbed TilapiaI’m always looking for new ways to incorporate fish into my meals. This recipe for Chili-Rubbed Tilapia is a great new way to prepare a nice healthy meal. It is another great recipe from the Johnson’s. Again, thanks to Shea and Mary Ellen for this awesome recipe.

Ingredients for Chili-Rubbed Tilapia

  • 1 pound tilapia fillets (about 4)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon Pink Himalayan Salt
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (you can also use Olive Oil cooking spray)
  • 1 lemon

Preparing the Chili-Rubbed Tilapia

Combine chili powder, garlic powder and salt on a plate. Dredge fillets in the spice mixture to coat. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the fish and cook until just opaque in the center, gently turning halfway, 5 to 7 minutes total. Immediately add juice from lemon to fillets once you remove them from the pan.
